Position: Hardware Engineer

Location: Bangalore

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Designing and developing embedded hardware in Power domain.
• Work on Analog and digital interface, board bring up, testing and debugging of the software.
• Responsible for the selecting right components like Micro-Controller, Memory ICs, Driver ICs, Interface designs, ADC/DAC components.
• Effort Estimations for proposals and carrying out detailed requirement analysis based on functionality, translating spec into actual system requirement and implement the same.
• Work closely with EMS partners and vendors to improve the process, product quality, Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and automated testing.
• Design the hardware that meets the medical device safety and performance standards, for ex. IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2.
• Design of experiments for investigating issues and finding the way forward. Use structured reasoning (Fishbone, 8D etc) to RCA issues. Implement CAPA.
• Participate in AFMEA, own DFMEA, and collaborate with the manufacturing team for PFMEA.
• To Design and implement PCB designs that meet the electrical, EMC, Safety, mechanical, thermal and DFA/DFM requirements of the system.
• Able to mentor a team

Required Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities:

• Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in hardware designing.
• Hands-on experience in DC-DC converter designs, SMPS power supply design for ac and DC based systems.
• Good knowledge in PCB layout guidelines, PCB designing concepts, impedance control layout design, length matching.
• Should have working knowledge on circuit breakers, IGBT’s, MOSFET etc.
• Must have strong knowledge of circuit theory and electrical engineering principles
• Experience in signal integrity, power integrity and EMI/EMC concept.
• Experience in guiding the PCB team
• Must have hands-on experience on high pot, high frequency designs.
• Electrical and electronic circuit design experience, analog and digital circuit design, communication interface circuits, power supplies, physical equipment design and mixed-signal circuit boards.
• Experience in designing the firmware for microcontroller interfaces.
• Experience in selecting high voltage components.
• Familiarity with tools such as Cadence, Altium, PSpice, ORCAD, and Mentor Graphics.
• Shall have strong knowledge on product reliability, performance characterisation
• Proficient with test instruments – DSO, Multimeter, power supplies etc.
• Experience in Product life cycle management.
• knowledge of medical device standard IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2
• Working knowledge on Defibrillator, Electrocautery, X-ray system will be added advantage.
• Experience in people management, & team handling.
